Promises

To a child a promise is a big deal.  Little things are big for them and it is our job to make sure that our children dont lose faith in us.

When I started on this path of parenting I was aware that my life would change and I was aware that my schedule would now have to revolve somewhat around my children. I knew that I would miss things and cancel others because of my children. I knew that I might anger some that didnt understand that kids get sick at the last minute, they get cranky, they dont eat… kids are unpredictable and trying to make them fit into an adult world is futile. I also knew that there would be some who would truly understand that having children was like herding cats and we would find each other. I am lucky to say that I have found people who understand me and value my children and myself. People who understands that children have feelings and should be respected.

Unfortunately those people are not my parents, but I guess that is ok. We have a great family of like minded people around us.

I just wanted to say, I love you all.

  1. They brought you up in a different world. My parents were the same way somewhat. They were at least better than their parents. I do love that my mom understand exactly what you are saying. This is another reason I hate my kids school. They think nothing of breaking promises to kids.
